Schindler’s List tour


Day 1

Arrival in Krakow airport. Private coach transfer to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay in Krakow.

Day 2

After breakfast we follow the story of Oskar Schindler and the Schindler’s Jews. All the history shown in the Schindler’s List movie took here, in Krakow. We visit Kazimierz, the old Jewish town in Krakow, which became world famous thanks to the film, “Schindler’s List”, made here by Steven Spielberg. We discover the remains of the Jewish culture: the Old Synagogue, Remuh synagogue and the cemetery, Tempel synagogue, the old-fashioned crooked streets and the birthplace of Helen Rubinstein. During the tour we visit the Galicja Jewish Museum with the impressive photo exhibition. After the break we follow the traces of the Holocaust: the Ghetto Square, the famous Schindler’s Factory and the Plaszow Camp.

Interactive tour: the  students make some tasks. Duration depends on the option: with entrance fees to Remuh Synagogue and Galicja Jewish Museum approx. 4 h.

Afternoon: at leisure or optional Salt Mine tour.

Evevnig: Dinner in a local restaurant with concert of the Jewsih Klezmer music.

Day 3

After breakfast we go to Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum. We visit the area of the former concentration and extermination camp in Auschwitz . Here we see the exhibition in the brick blocks ,where the prisoners were kept, the gas chamber and the crematorium. After a short break we go to Birkenau (Auschwitz II), the largest Nazi extermination camp where we see the Gate of Death, the wooden barracks and the Victims’ Memorial. Return to Krakow.

Duration : approx. 6,5 h (including 3,5 in the Museum. Optionally: extended visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum (6 h guide tour).

Afternoon: a brief walking tour of the Old Town of Krakow. Dinner. Overnight stay in Krakow

Day 4

Breakfast. departure for the airport.
