Gdansk with a tourist record

In 2018, another tourist record fell in Gdansk – according to data from the Gdańsk Tourist Organization and the Pomeranian Institute of Sciences.

Over 3.1 million visitors visited Gdańsk last year – this is a result bigger than the previous one by 17 percent.

In 2018 exactly 3 110 755 visitors came to Gdańsk – this number consists of over 2 million tourists and over 1 million visitors. 69% of all visitors were countrymen who came in the largest numbers from the Pomeranian (27.4%), Masovian (12.4%) and Warmian-Masurian (8.5%) voivodships. Among the foreign guests, Gdańsk most often was visited by Germans, Scandinavians and the British.

Tourists rated their impressions of the stay highly – at 8.72 points, on a 10-point scale. The main purpose of the trip to Gdańsk was rest, visiting friends and business travelers. The guests eagerly visited the Pier in Brzeźno, Westerplatte, Park Oliwski and St. Mary’s Basilica.
