Gdańsk

Gdańsk is one of the most interesting cities in Poland, called the Pearl of the Baltic Sea, or the City of Amber. It was a very important harbor on the famous Amber Route, and in the 16th century it was the largest city in the Polish Kingdom. The magnificent monuments and the multicultural atmosphere of the city, typical for ports, reflect the interesting history of the city. The highlights of the Old Town are: Długi Targ Street with the numerous renaissance and baroque town houses, St. Mary's Church, the Gothic Town Hall, the magnificent  Artus' Court and the fountain of Neptun, the symbol of the city. In the Oliwa district there is the majestic Gothic cathedral (107 m long!) with the unique 18th century organs, one of the largest in the world. The organ concert is an unforgettable attraction of the tour. The contemporary history of Gdańsk is commemorated by the Memorial in Westerplatte Peninsula, where the Germans attacked  Poland in September 1939 and started  World war II. About 35 km from Gdańsk was the Nazi concentration camp in Sztutowo (KL Stutthof), where today a  museum is located. The Gdańsk Shipyard and the monument of Three Crosses is a symbol of the struggle with the communist regime and Solidarity, whose leader was Lech Walesa.

Sopot & Gdynia

Sopot, located on the Baltic Sea is one of the most famous health resorts in Poland and is very often called the summer capital of Poland. An unforgettable atmosphere and the beautiful sandy beaches attract thousands of visitors each year.  The centre of the city is made up of a  promenade with  numerous shops and charming cafes. The main attraction of Sopot is the longest wooden pier (molo) in Europe – from here one can admire the beautiful sandy beaches and a view of the town.  In Sopot  the International Sopot Festival is organized.  Gdynia is an important harbor, built at the beginning of the 20th century. In the port you can visit the old destroyer ORP Błyskwica  (The Lightning) and the ship Dar Pomorza.
